Hey guys this is Kevin from Jaztime.com and today we'll be reviewing the Rolex Date Datejust 2 The reference number for this watch is 116334. We'll be going over the pricing, the dial, bezel, case, crown, bracelet, clasp, and we'll talk about the movement towards the end of the video. So as of September 2017, unfortunately you will not be able to get this watch at an authorized Rolex retailer, as this watch is now currently discontinued to make way for the Rolex Datejust 41. But the retail pricing of the time was $9,100. And at Jaztime.com, you can still get this brand new, as this has only been recently discontinued as of September 2017, so there are still new models out there, and you can get this for as low as $7,600. Moving on to the dial now. So specifically speaking for this dial, we have the silver dial with blue Arabic numerals as you can see there. The Arabic numerals are luminescent so they do glow in the dark for up to eight hours. Specifically speaking for the Arabic numerals, that is the only configuration this comes in for Arabic numerals. So only blue and silver. If you're looking for a simpler hour markers like index or Roman, you can get those in a black or blue colored dial or additionally silver for the index hour markers. Besides that, the hour markers are fashioned in 18 karat white gold. Same as the hands as well, are made up of 18 karat white gold with the luminous tips as well. The Datejust follows a simple dial with the hour markers, the hands and the date window at the 3:00 position with a cyclops lens on top of that sapphire crystal for magnification and easier viewing of that date. All right moving on to the bezel now. The bezel is just a very basic, very simple 18 karat white gold fluid bezel. Moving onto the case now. The case size of this watch is 41mm in diameter, so from my index finger to my thumb, that's 41mm in diameter The case itself has a nice high polish on the lugs and also on the side of the case we have that same high polish as well. As Rolex is 904L steel, which is the in-house made steel which has additional corrosion resistance and has a beautiful shine of the high polish which travels very nicely with the bracelet, as you can see the high polish on the sides of the bracelet as well. Even matching on the other side with the high-polish on the sides of the case with the high polish on the bracelet. Moving on to the crown. We have the Rolex logo on the crown. The crown itself is a screw-down twin-lock double water-proofing system. It simply unscrews going counterclockwise to the first position which is the standard position in which you can wind the watch. Going clockwise from a dead-stop you'll only need to wind it about 15 to 20 times and that should be enough to get the watch started again. A simple tug of the crown will allow you adjust the date as shown going clockwise, as you can see. You can adjust the date very easily, very quickly. And then the final position of the watch, keep your eye on the seconds hand here as I pull the crown out to final position. That will actually stop the second hand from moving, and that's to allow for precise time-setting, such as to tell the clock online, you can set it down to the exact seconds. And as you can see you can also set the hands bi-directionally as well. All right, so pressing the crown back in against the case will start the seconds hand once more. Let me give it a little wind here. Okay, and once that starts, go ahead and screw the crown nice and tight against the case, as this will keep the watch water resistance for 100 meters or 330 feet. Okay? Moving on to the bracelet now. The bracelet, a beautiful oyster bracelet. It's a three piece length bracelet, as this is more of a-- The Datejust is a dress a watch. We have a nice high polish down the center, center of the links contrasting with the brushed steel of the outer three piece link. And that's throughout the clasp as well and the other side of the bracelet. As you can see. For the clasp, very simple little clasp, it's just a folding oyster clasp that you can just pop off like that. Very nice and you have the classy blades reveal which has the Rolex name embossed on the high polish clasp blade. Underneath the clasp itself, pulling down here, you can actually adjust the Datejust in 5mm increments. You'll need a tool to be able to adjust that as you'll see little pinholes here in which you can set the bracelet back in 5 mm increments. And that's helpful in the sense that during summer days, when your wrist starts to swell up, you don't want the bracelet to be choking your wrist. So you can adjust to have extra comfortability or on colder days where your wrists, you know, vice versa, you don't want the watch to be shaking around on your wrist, you can adjust it for a little of a tighter fit. It's a very nice feature. Moving on to the movement now. The movement is housed in a very simple oyster case backing as Rolex has Perpetual mechanical self-winding movement. And this is the 3136 movement that's been updated from the 3135 movement. And the difference between the 3135 and the 3136 from this update is that they actually, they added what's called the Paraflex shock absorbers which is Rolex in-house shock absorbers. And which Rolex claims absorbs up to 50% more shock, rather has more shock resistance. Besides that, the movement is COSC-certified of plus minus two seconds a day. As the functions of the center, hour, minute, second hand, with instantaneous changing of the date and the stopping of the second hand as I've shown you with the crown, the power reserve of this watch is 48 hours, so you can put this watch on on a Friday evening, pick it back up on a Saturday evening and it'll be keeping time just fine. Alright, so let's go ahead and try this watch on now. Very simple clasp, very easy to use. Nice piloting of the bracelet. Very rare, unique-looking dial, with the blue Arabic numerals and that silver.
