We would greatly appreciate it if you buy a watch from jaztime.com once in awhile. Today we'll be reviewing the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. This is the model number 26331OR.OO.D821CR.01. As, of course as that's quite the long model number we'll have the link to the watch in the description below. We'll be going over to the dial, bezel, case, crown, strap, clasp, and we'll talk about the movement towards the end of the video. So jumping right into the dial here, the dial configuration I currently have in my hand is the Grande Tapisserie pattern which is referencing these sort of score patterning, even score patterning that you see on the back of the dial. So very beautiful, unique style to the AP watches is that square patterning specifically. Is that this is the Grande, this is the Grande Tapisserie dial. There's also the Petite Tapisserie dial which is the smaller version of it where the scores are much smaller and also there's a Lady Tapisserie which sort of utilizes the score patterning just around the center. So for this specific watch we have the Grande Tapisserie which covers the whole dial in this score patterning. Besides that as this is a chronograph watch we have three sub dials. The two larger ones being the 12 hour elapsed time at the nine o'clock, 30 minute elapsed time at the three o'clock and the actual seconds for the watch where the seconds is actually ticking down for the watch will be at the six o'clock in a smaller sub dial taking a little bit less real estate space on the face of the watch. Has a beautiful sort of pinkish rose gold coloration of a sort of matte in the center with a nice high polish on the sort of outer track of each sub dial. Besides that the central second's hand located in the center, again, this is a chronograph watch so that central seconds hand is controlled by the chrono-pushers at the two o'clock and four o'clock position. And we'll get to that when we get to the crown functions but for now, more about the dial. We have the date window right between the four and five o'clock position at a diagonal, sort of at a diagonal. There's no magnification on the sapphire of the sapphire crystal as the day itself is already easy enough to read from the sort of contrast of the white text against this brown dial. This is a brown dial if I had not mentioned that. This is a brown dial watch to match beautifully with the rose gold of the case and the bezel. Besides that the hour markers are index hour markers also fashioned in that nice rose gold as well to give a nice contrast of shine, that sort of reddish shine to the face of the watch from the brown dial. The index hour markers are luminous as well, so they do glow in the dark and I actually can show you how that looks. So we're gonna go ahead, charge that up for a second. Then I'm gonna go ahead and shut off the lights here so you can take a look at the luminosity of the watch. You can see a very luminous, very beautiful glow. The glow itself is actually a green luminosity. Fortunately, the camera does brighten it a little bit so it does look a little bluish but it is a green luminosity. One thing nice about the luminosity is obviously being able to read this watch face in the dark but also the sort of indications of the dots right behind the index hour markers to help with the readability as well. Of course the 12 o'clock position has an additional index marker next to it to sort of landmark the features of the face of the watch to be able to read the time at a quick glance. All right. But besides that it's basically your standard Audemars Piguet watch in terms of the structure and the structure of the dial. We also have the AP name right in the center, right under the 12 o'clock position. All right, let's go ahead and move on to the bezel now. The bezel, nice brushed steel bezel as you can see brushed very beautifully in one direction vertically matching along with the brushed steel and brushing of the case as well. Top of the case and the bottom of the case, you can see that nice beautiful brushing being nice and uniform. We've got the hexagonal screws in the front of the case, typical of the Audemars Piguet line to have the hexagonal screws and, of course, high polished to sort of juxtapose against the brushed finish to bring a little more shine to the face of the watch along with the nice high polish or mirror polish on the edge of the octagonal bezel. Can see, very beautiful mirror polish throughout. Moving on to the case now. The case size of this AP watch, you're looking at a 41 millimeter case size. So from my index finger to my thumb here, that's 41 millimeters in diameter. From a side profile view of this watch it actually is a little thick watch. It's 11 millimeters in thickness but it still will fit under those suit cuffs, dress cuffs very nicely. So you can see very beautiful matching of the bezel on the back of the case. So obviously having the same shape of the octagonal, the octagonal shape as that's how their case is held down from the hexagonal screws, it goes all the way throughout the back. I think you can see from the side profile, very nice matching of that shape but then sort of sandwiching it between this nice brushed finish of the case itself. On the other side of the case, once again, beautiful brushed finish. And we have the AP crown logo on the crown itself. As we move on to the crown functions now. The crown is a screwed-down crown so we're gonna unwind it counter-clockwise to open it up. In the center position is where you can actually wind your watch by going clockwise. About 15 to 20 winds is all you need to get the watch started once more from a dead stop. Pulling the crown out to the next position will allow you to adjust the date. As you can see very quickly and very easy to do by going clockwise. So I just set it to 28. And for the final position you'll be able to adjust the hands bi-directionally as shown. Okay. Pushing the crown back in and screwing it back down. You obviously want to do this every time you're done with any of the functions of the crown itself as you want to keep your watch protected, you don't wanna bump your crown out. While it's out you might damage it. And also you want to keep the watch itself water resistant and it's only water resistant when the crown is nice and tight against the case. For this AP watch you're looking at about 50 meters which I believe translates to about 166 feet. All right, so moving on to the chrono-pushers now. For the chronograph functions, works as any other chronograph function. You press the two o'clock pusher, it starts the central seconds hand as you can see it starts tracking that elapsed time. The only sub dials that will be affected will be, once again, the three o'clock and the nine o'clock position sub dials for a 12 hour and 30 minute elapsed time. Pressing the crown will stop that central seconds hand and of course the four o'clock pusher will reset that central seconds hand back to the 12 o'clock position and that will also reset the two sub dials, the two sub dials. The second sub dial will always keep going on its own. All right, moving on to the strap now. So beautiful strap. This is a hand-stitched strap. This is a large square scale strap. This is, as AP calls it, it's a brown alligator leather strap. Large square strap. As you can see it sort of mimics the idea of like having links. You can see large squares being separated tapering from the front of the watch to the back. So beautiful alligator strap. So sort of similar function of a tang buckle in sense of being able to set your wrist size. Very easy to do, just simply pull out the pin, push the pin back in and you'll be able to set your wrist size very easily. Specifically for the clasp itself is actually a folding clasp. So we're gonna go ahead and pull this off and there we are, it opens up as so. Very beautiful symmetrical clasp blades. So let me show you the other side. All right, so we're gonna go ahead and close that up. What a snap. So very easy to adjust leather strap. Let me show you the back of the case now as we move on to the movement. So the back of the case, very beautiful Royal Oak name embossed on the back there in a nice high polish with a nice sort of bead blast finish in the center to give a nice contrast as well. The hexagonal, the octagonal portion of the case is nicely brushed finish. And of course we got the hexagonal screws once more coming from the front to the back. On the side of the case we have some embossed line marking features. It's a little bit hard to see, I'll try to zoom in to show you. So this one has the AU750 for this being gold and the AP logo. The AP logo right above that. On the other side we have some additional hallmarks as well. Okay? So the movement obviously is housed in this case. For the movement itself is in-house made self caliber, self winding caliber, a 2385 movement, has a power reserve of 40 hours meaning that you can put this watch down on a Friday evening, pick it back up on a Sunday afternoon and it'll be keeping time just fine. But if you do decide to leave the watch down or if you don't have a watch winder you will have to wind the watch once more with the crown function I've shown you. Otherwise this watch is an automatic watch, meaning that once this watch is on your wrist you'll be able to just simply power the watch using the inertia of you moving your wrist about the day to keep the watch wound and going. Of course, the functions, the functions of the movement itself. It is a chronograph movement so you have the chronograph functions and of course the hour, minutes and seconds hand and the changing of the date, every revolution of the 24 on the crown as I showed you earlier. All right, so there is the watch on my wrist. As you can see, very beautiful watch, rose gold all around, matching sort of matching gold toning coloring for the face of the watch as well giving a nice contrast against the brown dial. See very beautiful alligator strap as well. And you can see, it doesn't sit too high off the wrist as I mentioned. It is a little bit thicker but it doesn't really sit that high off the wrist so it will fit under those suit cuffs, dress cuffs very nicely.
